Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States, James moved to Canada more than 8 years ago to make a life in Ontario with his then-fiancée. He graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and is currently completing a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Yorkville University, to become a Registered Psychotherapist.
James is a single father of a sweet little 5-year-old girl with whom he spends most of his time playing, swimming, and doing arts and crafts. In his free time, he loves being active at the gym and engages in sports like football, basketball, baseball, and golf. He also enjoys spending time with his friends in his men’s bible study group.
James has a passion for volunteering. He has worked and volunteered in the social services field with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Children’s Aid Society and CMHA. Volunteering with these organizations truly affirms his belief that providing support and hope is a tremendously rewarding act.
The wisdom gained from the adversity and experiences he has faced in his own life, will hopefully guide him to help others. James uses a wide spectrum of models for his practice including a strength-based approach to therapy that employs solution focused and CBT therapy.
