Colin and Bruins was born and raised on a dairy farm in southern Alberta. He moved to Saskatoon in 2011 where he served as a Children and Family Pastor. Along the way Colin found himself using his gifts and abilities to work alongside children and youth in the school system as an Education Assistant for over 10 years.
Colin found himself drawn to the counselling field after recognizing he had a keen curiosity in learning about the interior life of others. He wanted to attune to others unique stories en route to discovering their values and strengths.
This lead Colin to pursue a Master of Counselling degree to better equip him in developing a supportive therapeutic stance.
Colin has a collaborative and client centered approach to counselling. He has utilized aspects of Narrative therapy as well as Solution Based and Attachment based approaches.
Colin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Leadership Development and is on his way to completing a Master of Counselling degree.
Colin loves to serve and has been part of various community initiates including refugee sponsorship, food bank distribution, volunteering on his local church board, being an advocate for NGO’s that serve oversees and working as an election returning officer.
Colin lives with his wife of 19 years and four teenage children. Colin likes to go for walks with his family dog Izzy and recently adopted a cat named Doughnut. Colin competes in long distance running events and enjoys bike rides, fishing and camping.
